Steve Littleson Joins the LifeFlight Foundation as Strategic Philanthropic Advisor
We are excited to share that Steve Littleson, a longtime healthcare executive and former hospital system CEO, recently joined The LifeFlight Foundation team as Strategic Philanthropic Advisor. In this role, Littleson will help build and strengthen relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to advance LifeFlight of Maine’s mission and support the significant philanthropic investment needed to sustain and strengthen Maine’s critical care transport network.
Steve brings more than four decades of leadership experience in healthcare, including most recently serving as CEO of Central Maine Healthcare, one of LifeFlight of Maine’s joint venture partners. He has also served as Chair of the Board of the Maine Hospital Association and as Chair of the LifeFlight of Maine Steering Committee, giving him a rare, system-level perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing critical care delivery across the state.

Prior to joining the LifeFlight Foundation, Steve held leadership positions at healthcare organizations across the Northeast and was deeply involved in multiple capital giving and fundraising campaigns, helping to raise millions of dollars.
Since its founding in 2003, the Foundation has raised more than $48.4 million from 18,548 donors to support LifeFlight of Maine. As the organization prepares for a significant investment in its air fleet, Steve’s experience leading large healthcare organizations and advancing major fundraising initiatives will play a key strategic role.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Gettysburg College and a Master of Health Administration at George Washington University. He continued his education at Walden University, where he earned a Doctor of Business Administration.
